27 September 2022 This easy Chee Dale circular walk has so much variety. You'll walk through a beautiful gorge, take in two sets of stepping stones - which see far fewer crowds than the ones at Dovedale - as well several fun abandoned tunnels.

The two main ways to get to Chee Dale and the Stepping Stones are either from Millers Dale (approaching from the east), or a layby off the A6 (approaching from the west). The route is pretty easy to follow from either direction, as you simply follow the river. Plus it's very well signposted.

1. From Millers Dale Car Park walk right along the path signposted to Wye Dale. The path is also a part of the Monsal Trail. On this path you will spot a small wooden carved train. It is a reference to Millers Dale's railway history as it was at one time bigger than most stations in large towns.

The only way to visit the Chee Dale stepping stones is by walking. You will find them hidden deep in the Chee Dale Valley beside the River Wye. The longer walk to see both sets of stepping stones will take you around 2 hours and it's an adventurous and scenic hike. But, it's quite challenging for many…including me!
