It is basically in Hana town, and the parking for the red sand beach is actually around many of the Hana community recreation areas. Getting to the red sand beach is also one of the great hikes on the Road to Hana.

This is a small "pocket beach" between two headlands; it is shielded from the open sea by an offshore reef so large waves don't reach the small bay and the water is calm.
