This phenomenal beach is certainly one of the best on Sitonia, or it may be better to say on the whole Halkidiki. It is known under several names- Orange beach, Kavourotripes, Portocali.Kavourotripes is actually the name of the coast that is 5km long and along this coast there are a lot of coves with the white sand and turquoise water.

Beautiful Orange Beach On The East Coast Of Sithonia Peninsula

Portokali or Orange Beach is considered one of the most exotic beaches of Sithonia. It is located on the east coast of the peninsula, somewhere between Sarti and Armenistis. Its original name in Greek is Kavourotripes (meaning "crab holes"). You can`t see the beach from the main road but there are signboards that will lead you.

The central cove is called Orange ( Portokali in Greek) and it was named after the bar that is located on the beach. This cove is organized and it offers sunbeds and parasols. Since it's very small, it can be very crowded in the high season. However, it has a 30 m long shoal, so the water area is almost never crowded.

Depending on the weather and time of day, the colour of the crystal clear water is usually a dark hue of green-blue. This is one of the Greece beaches which most definitely is worth a visit if you are in Sithonia, Halkidiki.

To find these beaches you need to leave the main street of east Sithonia and cross a very difficult dirt road for about 350 meters up to the coastline. There is a group of small beaches which continue from Orange beach to the south to Platanitsi is Almyrompares beach and north to Armenistis is the Kampouris beach (Serbs call it Dukina).

Great beaches and water for swimming. Free campers set up among the pines. Great view of Mt. Athos. And what's not… Has become overcrowded even in the off season. A little difficult to get to. Access to Orange beach is not so easy. Drive north from Sarti about 10 minutes and you will see the signs on the right for Portokali.

This pretty well describes this beach which amounts to many small white sand coves that are found over kilometers of coastline. The main beach is organized by a beach bar and is overcrowded with sun beds and parasols, by 11am you won't find an empty chair.
