San Rocco is a splendid hamlet of Camogli, reachable by car via a detour from the Aurelia just before the tunnel which begins the descent towards Rapallo. San Rocco is perhaps one of the most beautiful villages we know of. There are 3-4 taverns, a view needless to say magnificent, and the beginning of many paths that lead into the Portofino.

The Amalfi Coast and the Cinque Terre may be the most well-known spots in Italy for walking trails with incredible views of the Mediterranean coastline; but here's an equally spectacular, more off-the-beaten track suggestion: spend a few days in the fishing village of Camogli (photo below), just 30 minutes south of Genoa and about an hour up fro.

Hiking between San Rocco and San Fruttuoso was a beautiful and lush trail. The ferry one-way costs €8, however, it is only €14 for a roundtrip ticket, so slightly cheaper if you plan to visit San Fruttuoso that way. The ferry terminal in Camogli is located here. Visit the day before your hike to learn about the timetables.
