Carnon Plage doesn't have the wild, unspoilt location that a lot of the other beaches do, but really, once you are walking towards the sea, all you can see is crystal blue and white sand.

Locally called Carnon Plage, this is the nearest beach to Montpellier. Visitors can also get there via public transport, by taking a bus from Montpellier city center. They can take the tram from the city center to Perols Etang de l'Or the tram stop too. Then they can either pick up the shuttle bus to Carnon Plage beach or trek there.

Carnon Plage Carnon is the closest of Montpellier's beaches but the least appealing. Maybe it's going too far to call it an ugly beach but the small port doesn't help with its attractiveness. There are few cafes and shops by the beach and the houses are situated directly on the beach which I find a little odd.
