Instructions - Preheat oven to 350 degrees. To make the pudding, crumble the bread into pieces into a large bowl. Add milk to the bread pieces and let the milk get absorbed by the bread, about 10 min. Now add eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla and raisins. Mix well. Butter a baking pan (I used a 7.5 x 10 inch casserole dish with nearly 4 inches depth.)

Place the pan in a larger one filled with 1-inch of hot water. Cover the larger pan with aluminum foil, tenting the foil so it doesn't touch the pudding. Cut a few holes in the foil to allow steam to escape. Bake for 45 minutes.
