Its full designation is AMX-30 AU-F1. It is also referred as CN 155 AU-F1. It was developed in the late 1960s. First prototype was built in 1972. Production of the F1 GCT commenced in 1977 and ceased in 1993. A total of 250-273 of these artillery systems were produced for the French Army. In 2020 only 32 were operational.

AMX-30 (1972): I love the AMX-30 platform, in every form. It's got great mobility and a low silhouette, the turret armor is trolly enough to bounce some shot if you're not too exposed, and the gun is always reasonably good (i.e., no horrendous stock grind for better ammo types).
