I always seem to forget about this recipe, despite the fact that it is quite possibly one of the easiest cakes ever to make, calls for ingredients that are readily on hand in your basic pantry (no eggs or milk required), and doesn't even dirty the mixer. I've had this recipe for a couple of decades.

ALPHABET SALAD : 1 1/2 c. alphabet macaroni 1 med. mandarin oranges 1 can crushed pineapple 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour 2 eggs 1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip. Cook macaroni in salted water. Drain and set aside. Drain juices from pineapple and oranges. Cook juices in saucepan with sugar, flour, and eggs. Cook until thick.

Cook 8 ounces alphabet macaroni according to directions (omit salt). Refrigerate when cool. Prepare pudding but use 1/2 cup juices only of the pineapple and mandarin oranges. Do not use milk to prepare. Set pineapple and mandarin oranges aside. Mix cooled macaroni and pudding.
